Water Meters

Charging for residential water consumption began on August 1, 2010. Residents are encouraged to remedy any household water leaks during this time. Please repair household water leaks to avoid being charged for excess water consumption. Refer to the above diagram for helpful information on detecting leaks.

DIRECT DEBIT OPTION NOW AVAILABLE FOR: UTILITIES      

You will need to provide the office with a VOID cheque and sign an authorization form. Forms are available at the town office. 

 Watering Ban Lifted
Daysland Council lift the complete lawn watering ban that was recently put in place; and that the usual watering regulations remain in effect in accordance with the Town of Daysland Water Regulation Bylaw 2009-478 as follows: 

EVEN DATES: EAST OF 50TH STREET
ODD DATES: WEST OF 50TH STREET
TIMES: 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
 

New grass seed, sod or trees may be watered each day at the specified times.  

 

Bylaw Bits
All dogs in the town must be licensed and are not permitted to run at large.

LICENSE FEES
On or before Jan 31st $15.00 (Seniors $ 5.00)
After Jan 31st $30.00 (Seniors $10.00)
" Dog at Large" means a dog that is on any property not belonging to the owner of said dog and is not being restrained by a leash or is not being effectively controlled by the owner.
Penalty for first offense $300
Penalty for second offense $600
Penalty for subsequent offense not less than $1200.
  

Daysland Community Composting Location 

The Composting site ACCEPTS the following:
Grass cuttings
Leaves
Vegetable matter
Mulch

Please DO NOT discard:
X Styrofoam
X Cardboard, Paper
X Stumps, Branches
  

Follow HWY 855 to the entrance of the Public Works shop. The compost site is located behind the recycling bins. Signs are posted at the Composting site.

Thank you for doing your part in keeping Daysland safe. If you witness driving infractions or suspect illegal activity, please report these to the RCMP immediately.
You can call the local RCMP complaint line at 780-385-3502 or dial 9-1-1. You can also call a Flagstaff County Peace Officer during business hours at 877-387-4100 or 780-384-4111. Even if an Officer is not in town at the time it is important to call in order to document the occurrence.
