Town Utility Bills - Utility bills are sent out at the end of each month.  The billing is for water, sewer, garbage and gas services.  The bill is due by the 15^th of the following month.  There will be a penalty of 5% issued on any current month charges outstanding after the 15^th of the following month.  Utility bills can be paid at either bank in Daysland, Town Office or through your bank electronic bill payment.  For payments after office hours they may be left in the library drop box.

Utility accounts can be set up for equalized billing.  This is done prior to the May billings each year for accounts in current standing.  Contact the office to arrange equalized billing and you will be advised of the amount for your utility account.

For natural gas emergencies after office hours contact 780 – 382 – 2116.

Property Taxes – Property taxes are assessed from January to December.  The tax and assessment notices are sent out at the end of May and are due June 30 each year.  There is a penalty assessed on any outstanding amount July 1 and December 31 each year.  For those that are interested in a tax installment program you can sign up for it each January at the Town Office.  (The tax balance must be at a zero as of December 31.)

Dog Licences – Can be purchased at the Town Office.  Copies of the Dog Bylaw can be picked up at the office.

Licence Fees – Before January 31 of each calendar year - $15.00 per dog

 - Increased license fee - $ 30.00 per dog

 - Licence purchased by dog owners over age 65 before January 31 - $5.00 per dog

 - Increased license fee seniors - $10.00 per dog

 - Replacement license fee - $3.00

Garbage Collection – Garbage pickup is contracted through Flagstaff Regional Solid Waste Management in Sedgewick.  Their phone number is 780 – 384 – 3950.

Residential garbage pickup is Wednesday.  Each residence is allowed up to 5 bags of garbage.  If you have additional bags there is a fee of $1.00 per bag.  Additional bags require garbage tags on them.  Garbage bag tags can be purchased at the Town Office, 10 tags per book for $10.00.  There is no designated time or route that Flagstaff Regional Solid Waste Management follows for the residential pickup.  To prevent animal infestation into your garbage it is recommended that it be placed in an enclosed receptacle.

Transfer Site (Garbage Dump) - Hours - Summer Hours (April 1 – September 30)

   Tuesday 9:00 – 12:00 and Friday 9:00 – 6:30

  Winter hours (October 1 – March 31)

   Tuesday 9:00 – 12:00 and Friday 9:00 – 5:00.

The Town does try to schedule a large garbage pickup for sometime in the spring and fall.  There is also a Toxic Waste Roundup.  Watch the Town Newsletter for the dates of these events.

Various businesses and community buildings have rented garbage bins and these are only to be used by the authorized groups.  Additional charges are incurred by the businesses if extra dumping of these bins is required, so please do not dump your garbage in their bins.

The Library is located on Main Street between the Town Office and Medical Clinic.

Hours – Tuesday and Thursday – 1:00 – 8:00

Friday – 10:00 – 12:00   1:00 – 5:00

The library is closed Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Membership Fees – Adult $10.00

Youth (12-17) $5.00

Children (under 12) Free

Family $18.00

There is free use of computer with high speed internet access.  To ensure you get use at a convenient time, you may book use through the librarian.
